Cup Of Tea

July 24, 2018

Those that know me, know that I enjoy a good cup of tea.

The culmination of aroma, the warmth in one’s hand, the beauty of a cherished cup, a solitary moment of inner peace or an opportunity for connection with a dear friend.

Yup I love tea.

However, I also love tea for the profound lesson which the method of it’s brewing imparts.

Every type of tea has an optimal length of time for steeping.  For strong tea leaves the consequences of over steeping can have detrimental results, much like when we put off sharing how we feel about certain situations in our relationships.

Something important left unsaid or unaddressed for too long can simply infuse the relationship with bitterness and resentment, ultimately ruining it.  However, if we can learn to become aware of what emotions are steeping in our minds and hearts, and then address them honestly and compassionately we can brew rich relationships with complex flavours of integrity and trust.

Tea steeped in wisdom.

Sip on that.
